How to choose
Start with three questions:
- Where do you commute? Defence Colony and GK suit central Delhi and Nehru Place; Vasant Vihar suits the airport and Gurugram.
- What size do you need? Category A colonies offer the largest floors; Green Park, C.R. Park and Saket suit smaller families and budgets.
- How do you want to live? Markets and buzz (GK), quiet and privacy (Anand Niketan, Shanti Niketan), or green space (Panchsheel Park, Hauz Khas).
Schools and hospitals
Most of these colonies are within a short drive of well-known schools. AIIMS, Safdarjung, Max Saket, Fortis Escorts and Moolchand hospitals serve the area.
Investment view
Prime colonies with limited supply, such as Category A colonies and the better GK and Defence Colony blocks, have historically held value well. Value colonies like C.R. Park and Green Park Extension often offer better rental yields.
